A Chinese steelyard, which was commonly used in traditional markets, hangs in the air with the weight attached to a shiftable copper tube by a chain on one side, and a vessel is hooked onto the other side of the steelyard. The piece swings and trembles with air.

I take the copper tube, moving it to the right and to the left, trying to find the pivot point. The weight of the vessel seems imperceptible. Seeing my reflection on the surface of the glass, I asked myself puzzled “Where is balance?” I lift both of my hands, the piece wobbles, then stops. It is the weight of serenity.
