Glitch, 2023
glass, copper wire, enamel, 63" 19" 1/4"
On a thin glass panel rests a picture of a nude figure. The figure is positioned with its back facing outwards and is bent over at a 90-degree angle, with its two hands reaching out in front. This posture conveys a sense of vulnerability, as it exposes the unguarded side of the person. Upon closer inspection, one can see small bubbles scattered throughout the picture, sometimes clustered together and sometimes spread apart. In addition to the bubbles, there are pieces of what appear to be torn fabric encased in the glass, creating a blurred effect that obscures certain details of the image. Inspired by cyberfeminism, “Glitch” explores the imagery of nudity in the digital era, where it is sent, shared, and finally torn apart.
