Who is she, 2022
fused glass, aluminium, 21" 8" 2"
Who is she explores the intersection of the analog glass mosaic technique with contemporary media discourse of AI-generated imagery. In Taiwanese culture, "mosaic" means both making visible and also invisible. It is often used as censorship in pornography. This body of work showcases the art-making of assembling small pieces of glass and laying them into a picture originating from a pornography avatar. This technique parallel the labor-intensive process of mosaic with the fast-generated imagery from technology and utilize glass's materiality of opaque and translucent to represent the intersection of reality and cyberspace.
